NORFOLK, Va. – University of Virginia seniors LaTonya Blue (Baltimore, Md.) and Brandi Teamer (Joliet, Ill.) have been named to the 2005 Virginia Sports Information Directors’ All-State women’s basketball team, VaSID announced on Monday.

Blue earned first-team recognition, while Teamer earned second-team honors. This Teamer’s third straight VaSID honor. She also received recognition following the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

A 5-11 guard, Blue is a four-time All-ACC honoree and two-time ACC All-Defensive Team honoree. The senior captain finished second in scoring with 12.4 ppg and while pacing the squad with 14.9 ppg in ACC games only. Blue earned ACC Player of the Week honors twice during the season and four times during her collegiate career. Named the Most Valuable Player at the Cavalier Classic, Blue shared Best Offensive Player and Best Defensive Player honors at last week’s annual basketball banquet.

A 6-2 forward, Teamer is a four-time All-ACC honoree. She led the Cavaliers in scoring for the second consecutive season with 12.7 ppg. Named to the Women’s Sports Foundation and the Mildred & Roger L. White Invitational All-Tournament Teams, Teamer earned All-Tournament Team accolades at the 2005 ACC Tournament. Teamer shared Best Offensive Player honors.

The duo helped Virginia (21-11) to its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance this season, advancing to the second round.
