CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia softball team concludes it regular season with a seven-game homestand this week at The Park. The Cavaliers start the busy week by hosting Mount St. Mary’s in a doubleheader on Wednesday (April 27) at 3:00 p.m. UVa also squares off against Sacred Heart in a twinbill on Friday (April 29) at 3:00 p.m., before rounding out the regular season with a three-game series against Virginia Tech this weekend. Virginia hosts the Hokies for a doubleheader on Saturday (April 30) at noon and single game on Sunday (May 1) at noon.

Sunday’s contest against Virginia Tech will serve as Senior Day. Virginia will honor fourth-year co-captains Lauren Dennis (Encinitas, Calif./La Costa Canyon) and Jenn Wynn (Herndon, Va./Herndon) prior to the game, which starts at noon.

The Cavaliers enter Wednesday’s doubleheader with Mount St. Mary’s with a 23-29 overall record. UVa also stands at 7-7 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Mount is 11-22 on the season.

After Friday’s doubleheader against Sacred Heart, the Cavaliers wrap up the regular season with a three-game series against Virginia Tech. The series marks the first time the two teams meet as conference foes.

After a break for final exams, Virginia will compete in the 2005 ACC Tournament May 12-15 in College Park, Md.
