CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team travels to Princeton, N.J., to compete against George Washington, Southern California and Princeton on Saturday (April 30). The regatta will be held on Lake Carnegie and is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.

Virginia will compete in six events, racing its varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four, second varsity four, novice eight and second novice eight boats.

The Cavaliers won their sixth consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference Championship last Saturday (April 23) in Clemson, S.C. UVa won the varsity eight, the second varsity eight and the varsity four events at the ACC Championships. The Cavaliers finished second to Clemson in the novice eight competition. Virginia’s second varsity eight was honored as the ACC Crew of the Year.

UVa’s varsity eight boat is ranked 10th nationally in the latest Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing poll. Princeton is ranked first in that poll and Southern California is ranked 13th.

Saturday’s regatta is the final event for the Cavaliers before the South/Central regional competition in Oak Ridge, Tenn., May 14-15.
