TULSA, Okla. – Virginia second-year Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) continued his strong play at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Friday as he won in the round of 16 to advance to Saturday’s quarterfinals.

Huey, who reached the main draw by winning three matches in the qualifying draw earlier in the week advanced with a 6-3, 6-1 win over No. 44 ranked Adam Holmstrom of Denver. On Saturday, Huey will play No. 4 ranked John Isner of Georgia in the quarterfinals. With the win on Thursday, Huey became the first Cavalier to reach the All-American quarterfinals since Brian Vahaly in 2000. Fourth-year Rylan Rizza (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) also was in action in the round of 16 on Thursday, but fell in three sets to No. 5 ranked Jerry Makowski of Texas A&M.

In doubles, the No. 8 seeded team of Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India) and Huey fell in the second round to No. 17 ranked Lars Poerschke and Matija Zgaga of Baylor 9-7.
