CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia heads into the final month of the season with a three-game homestand beginning Saturday against Temple. The game is slated to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. and will not be televised.
The Cavaliers have a 4-3 record and need to win two more games to become bowl eligible.
They were off last week (practiced only Thursday and Friday) following a disappointing loss to North Carolina by a baseball score of 7-5 two weeks ago.
Virginia has opened November with a loss three of the previous four years. The Cavaliers are 9-8 in November/December regular season games under Al Groh.
The Owls are making their first trip to Charlottesville. They are having a rough season and are winless at 0-9. They are the first winless team to play in Charlottesville this late in the season since Buffalo traveled south with a 0-7 record in 1999. Temple has been outscored 409-87 this season.
Virginia DC/DB coach Al Golden and ILB/ST coach Mark D’Onofrio and Temple RB coach Blair Thomas were teammates at Penn State in 1988-89.
