The Cavaliers are 5-3 overall this season and need one more victory to become bowl eligible for the fourth consecutive season.
They began the season’s final month with a 51-3 win over Temple last Saturday. The offense ground out a season-high 262 yards and six touchdowns. Jason Snelling led the way with a career-high 126 yards, while Wali Lundy scooted for 113 yards in his first 100-yard game of the season.
The Yellow Jackets have won three in a row to improve to 6-2 overall this season and become bowl eligible for the ninth consecutive year. They defeated Wake Forest 30-17 last Saturday and re-entered the polls at #24. This is the first time they have come to Charlottesville as a ranked team since 2001. UVa has beaten the Yellow Jackets the last three times they’ve been ranked when playing in Charlottesville (1992, `99, 2001).
