CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP)Sean Singletary scored 13 of his 22 points in the second half as Virginia beat Hartford 71-62 on Saturday.

The Cavaliers (6-4) held Hartford to 29 percent shooting and scored 21 off Hartford turnovers.

Adrian Joseph’s 3-pointer with 14:53 to go in the first half put the Cavaliers up for good at 9-6. Virginia ended the half with a 20-6 run with J.R. Reynolds scoring the last nine. The Cavaliers led 39-23 at the break.

Rich Baker’s 3-pointer brought Hartford (5-6) to within four at 48-44 with 10:21 remaining, but that was as close as the Hawks could get. Virginia pulled ahead by as many as 13 in the second half.

Three Virginia players fouled out in the second half.

Joseph scored 15 for Virginia, and Reynolds had 13.

Kenny Adeleke led Hartford with 21 points and 15 rebounds, and Aaron Cook added 12 points.
