Three Virginia student athletes, Andrew Dumm, Jan Foerster, and Ryan Foster, were honored for their performances both in the classroom and on the course through their selection to the All-ACC Academic Men’s Cross Country Team. Each of the three men not only earned All-ACC honors as they helped the Cavaliers win the 2005 ACC Championship, but also they earned All-Regional honors as Virginia finished second at the NCAA Southeast Regional. The 2005 team was the first team in Cavalier history to qualify for the NCAA Championships with an automatic berth.

Dumm, a Foreign Affairs major, finished fifth at the ACC Championships two weeks before his 18th place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional.

Foerster, an economics major, led the Cavaliers throughout the season and finished fourth at both the ACC and NCAA Southeast Regional meets.

Foster, the ACC runner-up on the track in the 10K in 2004, finished seventh at the ACC meet before taking 11th at the NCAA Southeast Regional. He is a computer science major.
