On Tap This Week: The Cavaliers travel cross country for the second time this season as they compete at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle. Virginia is the tournament’s No. 6 seed and will open play Friday as they meet the host school, No. 12 seeded Washington.

Against the Huskies: Friday’s match is the second all-time meeting between the schools. Last season, Virginia defeated Washington 4-0 in a NCAA Tournament round of 16 match in College Station, Texas.

Against the Rest of the Field: Five of the other schools at this year’s tournament are on the Cavaliers’ schedule. Virginia has a 1-2 record this season against teams in the field (W vs. Baylor, L at Pepperdine, L at Illinois) with matches against Duke and Florida State still to come.

History at National Indoors: The Cavaliers are making their second all-time appearance at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. Last season, Virginia made its debut at the tournament and reached the final. The Cavaliers, seeded No. 9, defeated No. 7 Stanford 4-1, No. 2 UCLA 4-2, and No. 6 Mississippi 4-1 before falling to No. 1 Baylor 4-1 in the final. Virginia became the first team to reach the final in its first appearance at tournament (inaugural tournament excluded) and became just the second ACC team to reach the final.
