GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team’s second varsity eight is the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week after winning all three races in which it competed at the Windermere Collegiate Crew Classic last weekend (March 25-26). The Cavaliers defeated Stanford, Oregon State and California at the two-day regatta in Redwood City, Calif.

The Cavaliers defeated Stanford and Oregon State on Saturday (March 25). UVa finished with a time of 7:54.27 in the victory over Stanford (8:15.43). Virginia had a time of 7:06.3 in the win over Oregon State (7:29.5).

On Sunday (March 26), the Cavaliers finished with a time of 6:36.2 to defeat California (6:39.2).

Members of Virginia’s second varsity eight crew included Caitlin Mixter (coxswain), Renee Albers, Mindy Fiesler, Bridget Fowler, Katrin Sydlik, Kelsie Chaudoin, Crystal MacLeod, Anna Samaha and Mieke Pitts.

The Virginia women’s rowing team travels to Columbus, Ohio, this Saturday (April 1) to compete against Ohio State and Michigan.
