CHARLOTTESVILLE – – University of Virginia head wrestling coach Steve Garland has announced the addition of two more signees for the 2006-07 season.

Joe De Garavilla (Downington, Pa.) and Adam Fitterer (Fairfax, Va.) have signed letters of intent to attend Virginia in the fall. The two join Kellon Balum (Herndon, Pa.), Calvin Cardillo (Alexandria, Va.), John Danilkowicz (Green Oaks, Ill.) and Brent Fiorito (Palm, Pa.), who have already signed with the Cavaliers. Virginia is expected to add two more to the class.

The class has been ranked No. 22 in the nation by Intermatwrestle.com.

Following is information on the two wrestlers joining the Virginia program.

Joe De Garavilla – Downington, Pa. (Downington High School) – Qualified for the state tournament at 189 pounds as a high school senior … had more than 100 career victories.

Adam Fitterer – Fairfax, Va. (Fairfax High School) – Injured during the 2006 State AAA Tournament and finished sixth … three-time district and region champion … twice named the Outstanding Wrestler of the regional tournament … compiled a career record of 109-26.
