CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – – Two Virginia wrestlers are ranked in preseason wrestling polls. Sophomore Eric Albright is ranked as high as No. 18 at 133 pounds while junior Rocco Caponi is ranked as high as No. 12 at 184 pounds.

Albright, who was named the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year, posted a 29-9 overall mark last season and finished 12-3 in duals. The York, Pa. native is ranked No. 18 by W.I.N. Magazine and No. 20 by The Wrestling Mall.

Caponi redshirted in 2005-06, as he made the move up to 184 pounds. He posted a 22-4 overall record wrestling open tournaments. Caponi went 24-13 at 174 pounds during the 2004-05 season and 9-5 in duals. He added five pins in his freshman season. He finished second at ACC Championship in 2004-05 and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships. Caponi is ranked No. 12 by W.I.N. Magazine and No. 13 by The Wrestling Mall.

Virginia opens its season when the Cavaliers host Delaware State, George Mason and Liberty in a quad meet at Memorial Gym on Nov. 11.
