CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The University of Virginia women’s tennis team competed last week at the Harvard Team Tournament, where they met Arizona, Rice, and the host Crimson. For the weekend, the Cavaliers went 6-4 in doubles matches and 13-7 in singles matches.

Senior Caroline Hammond (Williamsburg, Va.) won the flight 4 singles title, while also teaming with Lara Alexander (London, England) to take the flight 3 doubles title. First year Brintney Larson (Orchard Park, N.Y.) recorded the first ranked win of her career, defeating No. 62 ranked Juliette Mavroleon of Arizona. Larson finished the tournament with a 2-1 record. Fellow first-year Jennifer Stevens (Miami, Fla.) posted a 2-0 record at the tournament, while first-year Kristen McVitty (Woodland Hills, Calif.) went 2-1 in singles in her first tournament of the fall.

The tournament was the final competition of the fall season for the Cavaliers.
