CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia junior tennis player Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) was named ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week conference officials announced Monday. Huey won in both doubles and singles in Virginia’s win over No. 23 Michigan on Saturday.

Against the Wolverines, Huey teamed with Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India) for an important win at No. 1 doubles that helped the Cavaliers secure the doubles point. Huey and Devvarman, currently ranked seventh nationally, topped No. 2 Brian Hung and Matko Maravic 9-8. In singles, tenth-ranked Huey downed No. 59 Hung 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

The honor is the first of Huey’s career and the second for a Cavalier this season. Devvarman was honored on January 29.

The fourth-ranked Cavaliers travel to Chicago this weekend for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The No. 4 seed Cavaliers play No. 13 seed Texas in a first round match on Friday.
