CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia junior tennis player Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) was named ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, conference officials announced Monday. Huey, a tri-captain, went 3-0 in singles matches at the National Team Indoors Championships and 2-1 in doubles matches with Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India).

Against No. 1 Georgia, Huey defeated No. 13 Luis Flores, 7-6, 6-2, to spark the Cavaliers to a near-upset of the Bulldogs. Huey and teammate Dominic Inglot’s victories yesterday were the first two points that Georgia had lost all season. Leading up to the semifinals, Huey defeated Texas’ Milan Mihailovic and Ole Miss’ Eric Claesson.

The honor is the second of Huey’s career and the third for a Cavalier this season. Devvarman was honored on January 29.

The third-ranked Cavaliers return home for a match Friday against No. 10 Pepperdine at 6 p.m. at the Boyd Tinsley Courts. They then face No. 16 Boise State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
