UVa Golfers Open at Wolf Run

Charlottesville, VA The Virginia men’s golf team opens its fall season Saturday at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind. Indiana is the host school for the two-day, 54-hole tournament. The Wolf Run Golf Club is set at par 71 and 7,195 yards for the event. The format includes 36 holes of play Saturday and a single round Sunday.
Virginia’s lineup will feature senior Greg Carlin, junior Conrad Von Borsig, sophomore Kyle Stough and freshmen Amory Davis and Will Collins. Von Borsig, an All-ACC selection in 2007, led UVa last year with a 73.67 stroke average.
A total of 13 teams will join Indiana and UVa in the field, including Arkansas, Ball State, Denver, Eastern Michigan, IUPUI, Kent State, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Northwestern, Penn State, Toledo and UNC-Greensboro.
Tournament play begins Saturday with a shotgun first-round start at 9 a.m. EDT. The second 18 opens with a shotgun start following the completion of the opening round. On Sunday, the final round commences with an 8:30 a.m. start and teams teeing off from the 1st and 10th tees.
