The Virginia field hockey team travels to College Park this weekend for what it hopes will be the first of two trips to the city this season. The No. 13/19 Cavaliers (5-4, 0-1 ACC) will face the No. 1/2 Maryland Terrapins (9-0, 2-0 ACC) in an ACC matchup on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Maryland Field Hockey/Lacrosse Complex. Game time is 1:00.

The Cavaliers have faced one of the most challenging schedules in the nation; Virginia has the eighth-toughest schedule according to fieldhockeycorner.com. The Hoos have already defeated No. 7/12 James Madison and America East-leading Vermont. Maryland is the fourth team in the top-10 the Cavaliers will face in 2007.

Virginia is led offensively by Traci Ragukas, who has notched six goals in nine games for the Cavaliers, and by Inge Kaars Sijpesteijn, who has three goals and three assists as a back. Lucy Meyers, who was recently named the National Player of the Week by womensfieldhockey.com, also has three goals. In the cage, Amy Desjadon and Devon Burnley have split the 630 minutes in the cage and have combined to allow less than two goals a game.
