CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. David Adams (Margate, Fla.) homered, drove in three runs and scored three times to lead the Orange Team to an 11-3 win Tuesday night in Game 4 of the Orange and Blue World Series at Davenport Field. The Orange Team takes a 1-0 lead in the second series as it attempts to rebound after dropping the first three-game series.

David Coleman (Richmond, Va.) added two hits and two runs for the Orange. John Barr (Ivyland, Pa.) went 2-for-2 with two RBI for the Blue Team.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning on a Barr single, the Orange roared back with six runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a three-run homer by Adams.

The Blue Team scored twice in the third on an RBI groundout by Dan Grovatt (Tabernacle, N.J.) and a sacrifice fly by Barr, but the Orange answered with two runs of its own in the fifth inning on a run-scoring single by Jeremy Farrell (Westlake, Ohio) and an RBI single by Ryan Smith (Waldorf, Md.).

The Orange tacked on three in the sixth inning to provide the final 11-3 margin.

Neal Davis (Baltimore, Md.) earned the win after starting and going 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and four hits while walking one and striking out one. Jeff Lorick (Duluth, Ga.) took the loss, giving up six runs and three hits in one-third of an inning. The Orange Team’s bullpen combo of Sean Lucas (Fishkill, N.Y.) and Jake Cowan (Roswell, Ga.) went 2 2/3 scoreless innings to wrap up the game.

The teams compete in Game 5 at 3 p.m. Thursday. Admission to each contest in the series is free to the public.
