CHARLOTTESVILLE The ITA Wilson Mideast Region Championships continued on Saturday with the Cavaliers having one singles player and one doubles teams advance in the tournament. The event will run through Monday at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.

In singles play on Saturday, Dominic Inglot (London, England), seeded No. 9, advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over third seeded Andy Juc of Furman. He will play Guillermo Gomez of Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

First-year Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India), also a No. 9 seed, fell on Saturday to fourth seeded Cory Parr of Wake Forest 6-3, 6-0.

In doubles, the Cavalier team of Singh and Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) won a pair of matches to advance to the semifinals. In their first match of the day, the 15th seeded duo upset No. 4 seeded Lenny Gullan and David Stone of North Carolina 9-8. Later in the day, they topped No. 14 seeded Enrique Olivares and Sebastian Serrano of East Tennessee State 9-8. They will play Parr and Steven Forman of Wake Forest in the semifinals.

Play continues Sunday and admission is free.
