Tonight’s attendance was 2,615.

George Washington claimed its first-ever win over Virginia Monday in the 11th meeting between the two schools. The Cavaliers were 10-0 against the Colonials heading into the game.

Virginia faced its first ranked opponent of the young season Monday against George Washington. The last time UVa defeated a ranked opponent was on March 2, 2006, when it beat No. 25 Boston College, 57-54.

UVa is 14-7 all-time in John Paul Jones Arena.

Virginia doubled up on GW in the paint, outscoring the Colonials 40-20 inside. The Cavaliers also outrebounded their opponent (44-34) for the second consecutive game.

Junior Lyndra Littles saw her first action of the season against GW after sitting out the season-opener against Longwood. Littles tallied a double-double with a game-high 25 points and a 11 boards, also a game-high.

Aisha Mohammed was one rebound shy of her second straight double-double. She finished with 12 points and nine boards.

Virginia will play at South Carolina Thursday in Columbia, S.C. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
