Virginia steps out of Atlantic Coast Conference play for the final time when it hosts Morehead State Monday night at John Paul Jones Arena. Tip-off is 7 p.m., and live audio is available through V Pass. The game will also air on WINA 1070 AM with Jay James (play-by-play), Myron Ripley (color commentary) and Larry Johnson (statistics) calling the action.

The Cavaliers are coming off of an impressive 74-49 win over ACC foe NC State Friday night. Lyndra Littles led all players with 17 points, while Sharne Zoll dished out a season-high 12 assists. With the victory, Virginia improved its record to 5-1 in the conference for the first time since the 1999-00 season and, at 16-5, is off to its best start since 2004-05 when it began the year 17-5.

Monica Wright continues to lead a balanced Cavalier offense, averaging 17.4 points per game. In her last outing vs. the Wolfpack, the sophomore tallied 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks in a typical all-around performance.

Aisha Mohammed exhibited her dominance in the post against NC State, nearly notching her ninth double-double of the season with eight points and nine boards. The junior center recently broke the school record for rebounds in a game (21 at Florida State, Jan. 26).

On the season, the Cavaliers are 11-4 against non-conference opponents. Morehead State has an overall record of 7-13 and a 5-7 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference. In their last outing, the Eagles fell to Eastern Illinois, 68-52, on Jan. 26.

Chynna Bozeman leads Morehead State by averaging 12.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Head coach Mike Bradbury (UT-Chattanooga ’93) is in his first year.

Up next for Virginia is a rematch with No. 5/5 Maryland in College Park on Friday, Feb. 8. Tip-off from Comcast Center is 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on the ACC’s Regional Sports Network.
