No. 3 Rowing Hosts Virginia Invitational At Lake Monticello This Weekend

CHARLOTTESVILLE No. 3 Virginia hosts the Virginia Invitational this weekend at Lake Monticello. Crew teams from Michigan State, Wisconsin, Oregon State, Columbia and Central Florida will participate in the regatta.

In the Saturday morning session which begins at 9 a.m., Virginia will race Michigan State in four varsity races and one novice race. The Spartans are ranked No. 7 in the latest national poll.
Other races on Saturday morning include Columbia vs. Oregon State and Wisconsin vs. Central Florida.
Saturday afternoon’s races start at 1 p.m., and feature Virginia vs. Wisconsin, Michigan State vs. Oregon State and Columbia vs. Central Florida.
On Sunday, Virginia races Oregon State and the other match-ups are Michigan State vs. Central Florida and Columbia vs. Wisconsin.
Virginia is coming off a strong showing at Ohio State last weekend, in which the program came away with nine victories in the varsity and novice races. The Varsity Eight swept No. 9 Ohio State and No. 10 Michigan en route to its second-straight ACC Crew of the Week honor.
Following this weekend’s races, Virginia will begin its quest for its ninth-straight ACC Championship. The conference champion will be crowned on April 19 in Clemson, S.C.
