GREENSBORO, N.C. Third-year Trey Miller and fourth-year Lauretta Dezubay were named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Performers of the Week, respectively. The honor marks a first for both recipients.

Miller earned the men’s award after capturing individual honors at the Lou Onesty Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native claimed first-place for the Cavaliers, finishing the 8K race with a time of 24:53.80 to win his first-ever collegiate race. Virginia placed five runners in the top-eight and captured the team title by a 17-point (19-to-36) margin over second-place Duke.

Dezubay garnered the women’s award after capturing individual honors at the Lou Onesty Invitational in Charlottesville, Va., as well. The Bethlehem, Pa., native took first-place in the women’s 5K race with a time of 17:55.01. Dezubay’s finish was 15 seconds faster than her previous personal record and resulted in her first-ever collegiate victory.

The Cavaliers will spend the next few weeks training before heading to Fairfax, Va., to compete in the George Mason Invitational on Sat., Oct. 4.
