CHARLOTTESVILLE — Play continued Saturday at the ITA National Indoor Championships at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. Dominic Inglot (London, England) and Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) advanced to the doubles backdraw final to highlight day three for the Cavaliers.

In the doubles backdraw semifinals, the team of Inglot and Shabaz scored a 7-5, 6-3 win over Jason Jung and Mike Sroczynski of Michigan. They will meet the team of Tucker and Johnson from Auburn-Montgomery in the final.

In the singles backdraw, Shabaz fell to Bruno Agostinelli of Kentucky 6-3, 4-6, 7-6.

Play concludes on Sunday, highlighted by the championship finals in both the men’s and women’s singles and doubles. The men’s singles final will be between Ohio State teammates Bryan Koniecko and Justin Kronauge. The men’s doubles final will be between Steven Forman and Cory Parr of Wake Forest and Robert Farah and Steve Johnson of USC. The women’s singles final will between the top two seeds, No. 1 Aurelija Miseviciute of Arkansas and No. 2 Ani Mijacika of Clemson. The women’s doubles final will be between Kristy Frilling and Kelct Tefft of Notre Dame and Anastasia Petukhova and Renata Kucerkova of Fresno State.
