CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia women’s tennis team announced the addition of two recruits to the program. Katie Gater (Dunblane, Scotland) will join the program this season in January and Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) will join the program next fall.

“”We are extremely excited and fortunate to have Katie and Caryssa enrolling at the University of Virginia and joining our women’s tennis program,” said head coach Mark Guilbeau. “Both of these young ladies will experience great success at UVA and will help our program take another step toward the top level in collegiate tennis. They are both great student-athletes and have been an extreme pleasure to recruit and communicate with. I know I speak for their future teammates as well when I say that we are really happy that Katie and Caryssa have chosen UVA. They will join a very positive, focused and determined group, and will have a great deal of fun with a team that is very excited about the future here at UVA.”

Gater will be a first-year player this season this spring as she transfers from the University of Sterling in Scotland. She was ranked No. 4 in the British junior rankings.
