Barr, Grovatt Named Cape Cod League All-Stars

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia baseball players John Barr (So., Ivyland, Pa.) and Dan Grovatt (So., Tabernacle, N.J.) have been named to the Cape Cod League All-Star team, the league announced Thursday. Barr and Grovatt each will start for the East Division team.
The pair will compete in the 47th Under Armour Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game at 7 p.m. July 23 at Boston’s Fenway Park. Each 21-player team was selected in a meeting of the teams’ 10 managers. The rosters are comprised of 10 starters, 11 reserves, and four alternates.
Barr, competing this summer for the Brewster Whitecaps, is hitting .317 with a team-high five doubles as well as four RBI and six stolen bases.
Grovatt, playing for the Harwich Mariners, is batting .294 with eight RBI this summer. He also boasts a team-high .422 on base percentage.
