All-American guard, Virginia’s leading scorer and now the Virginia Sports Radio Network’s newest correspondent is Monica Wright. For the next three months, Wright, a senior on the UVa women’s basketball team, will interview fellow student-athletes at UVa and produce feature pieces on them and their teams.

Wright’s debut is a feature on men’s basketball forward/center Jerome Meyinsse that airs on select stations on Thursday (Jan. 7).

“One of the neat aspects of this endeavor is that fans get an opportunity to see things through the eyes of our student-athletes at Virginia,” Director of Broadcasting and “Voice of the Cavaliers” Dave Koehn said. “Our student-athletes get a chance to gain experience on the other side of the microphone, conducting interviews and piecing together packages themselves. I’m sure Monica will do a fantastic job and I’m looking forward to working with her in the coming months.”

In addition to select stations across the Virginia Sports Radio Network, fans can catch the Monica Wright-produced Cavalier Minutes on VirginiaSports.com. Click here to listen.
