CHARLOTTESVILLE—The $10 tickets for Virginia’s home men’s basketball game with Virginia Tech on Thursday (Jan. 28, 7 p.m.) are sold out.

A limited number of reserved seat tickets for the Virginia Tech game remain on sale for $35. The seats are located in the upper level side court locations and below the $10 ticket area in the corners and end zone of the John Paul Jones Arena.

Tickets costing $10 remain available for four of Virginia’s other five remaining home ACC men’s basketball games. The $10 tickets are in the upper rows of the corners and end zone in the arena and are available for the Cavaliers’ home games with NC State (Feb. 3), Wake Forest (Feb. 6), Florida State (Feb. 17) and Maryland (March 6).

“The $10 ticket offer has turned out to be a positive initiative,” said UVa Executive Associate Athletics Director Jon Oliver. “We’ve sold more than 4,500 of the $10 tickets to various games and sold out of those tickets for the Virginia Tech game. The response to this offer has been consistent with the response we received when we asked our fans if they would support this kind of effort.

“Thursday will be a great opportunity for our fans to turn around the perception that when we play Virginia Tech their fans feel at home sitting in our seats. We hope our fans will use the tickets they’ve purchased or get them in the hands of a Virginia supporter.”

The doors to John Paul Jones Arena open at 5:30 p.m. for Thursday’s game with Virginia Tech.

The Duke game on Feb. 28 is not included in the $10 ticket offer due to the very limited number of tickets remaining for that game.

The parking lots adjacent to John Paul Jones Arena and University Hall are reserved lots. Parking open to the public at no cost is available at The Park in the North Grounds area. A free shuttle from The Park begins an hour and a half before the game. The shuttle runs for one hour after the game. Parking is also available for $5 at the Emmet/Ivy Garage.

Fans may purchase tickets online at or by calling the Virginia athletics ticket office at 1-800-542-8821 or 434/924-8821 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased in person by visiting the athletics ticket office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or game day at the John Paul Jones Arena box office.
