CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia athletics department invites all Cavalier fans to Bryant Hall on Monday, March 15, to watch the 2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Selection Show. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. Join the team and be a part of finding out where and when UVa will participate in this year’s NCAA Championship.

The selection show begins at 7 p.m. on ESPN and will last approximately an hour. Brackets will be available for fans to fill out as it is announced live.

Virginia (21-9) is ranked No. 22 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. Senior guard Monica Wright (Woodbridge, Va.) was named the ACC Player and Defensive Player of the Year following the regular-season and leads the league by averaging 23.3 points per game.

First-round play in the 2010 championship will begin on March 20 in Stanford, Calif., Berkeley, Calif., Durham, N.C., Knoxville, Tenn., Louisville, Ky., Seattle, Wash., Tallahassee, Fla. and Tempe, Ariz. On March 21, action will begin at Ames, Iowa, Austin, Texas, Cincinnati, Ohio, Minneapolis, Minn., Norfolk, Va., Norman, Okla., Notre Dame, Ind. and Pittsburgh, Pa.

Following second-round play at each of these sites, on March 27 and 29, regional play will commence with the Memphis Regional and the Sacramento Regional, while the Dayton and Kansas City Regionals will be played on March 28 and 30.

The 2010 Women’s Final Four will be played April 4 and 6 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
