CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia men’s and women’s tennis teams will host first and second round action of the 2010 NCAA Tournament this weekend at the Snyder Tennis Center. The women’s regional will be Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, while the men’s regional will be Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16.

Admission is free to the tennis matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available at the Emmet/Ivy Parking Garage and the Culbreth Road Parking Garage at no charge all three days. Event parking is also available at the Central Grounds Parking Garage, however hourly rates apply.

The Cavalier women (14-9) are hosting a regional for the first time in school history. They open tournament play at 2 p.m. on Friday as they host Princeton. Reigning NCAA Champion Duke meet Long Island in Friday’s first match at 11 a.m. Friday’s winners meet Saturday at 4 p.m. for a trip to the round of 16 the following week in Athens, Ga.

The Cavalier men (35-1) are the No. 1 seed in the men’s field for the third consecutive year and host regional play for the seventh straight season. Virginia opens the tournament against Navy on Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday’s first match at 10 a.m. is between Wake Forest and Columbia. Saturday’s winners will meet at 1 p.m. on Sunday for a trip to the round of 16 in Athens, Ga.
