NCAA Singles and Doubles Draws Announced

ATHENS, Ga. — The NCAA announced the draws for the 2010 Men’s and Women’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Tuesday morning. Play in the 64-player singles draws begins on Wednesday and play in the 32-team doubles draws begins on Thursday.

Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.), a 9-16 seed in the draw, opens singles play against Jason Jung of Michigan. Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India), also a 9-16 seed, will play Bruno Rosa of Rice in the opening round. Drew Courtney (Clifton, Va.) plays Alex Musialek of Kentucky in the opening round, while Jarmere Jenkins (College Park, Ga.) plays Matt Brooklyn of UCLA in the first round. In the first round of the women’s draw, Lindsey Hardenbergh (Fairfax Station, Va.) plays Fani Chifchieva of Auburn.

In doubles, the team of Shabaz and Courtney open play against 5-8 seed Jeff Dadamo and Austin Krajicek of Texas A&M.
