Five Incoming Cavaliers Named to Wrestling USA Magazine All-America Teams

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Five incoming recruits of the Virginia wrestling team have been named to Wrestling USA Magazine’s 2010 All-America Teams. All five will join the reigning ACC champion Virginia wrestling team beginning with the 2010-11 season.

Nick Sulzer (165 pounds), of Lakewood, Ohio, was named to the Wrestling USA Magazine All-America Team, while Joe Spisak (130) of Boiling Springs, Pa., earned a spot on the Honorable Mention All-America Team.

Three future Cavaliers also have been named to the First-Team Academic Team. Bryan Whitt (119) of Virginia Beach, Va., Gus Sako (125 pounds) of Lakewood, Ohio, and Derek Papagianopolous (285) of Burlington, Mass., each earned a spot on the Academic Team.

The highly-accomplished Academic Team features student-athletes with a tremendous amount of success on the mat as well as academic excellence and citizenship.
