CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The third-ranked Virginia field hockey team (6-0) continues non-conference action with a 1 p.m. contest Saturday at Lafayette in Easton, Pa. The game will be webcasted online here.

UVa is coming off two solid victories against two top-12 opponents. The Cavaliers downed No. 12 Ohio State (4-2) and No. 9 Syracuse in overtime (2-1) last weekend to remain unbeaten.

Junior Paige Selinski continues to pace the offense with nine goals and one assist. Sophomore Tara Puffenberger was selected ACC and National Player of the Week after scoring four goals in the two victories over the Buckeyes and Orange; she has five scores on the year. Senior goalkeeper Kim Kastuk has a .897 save percentage and has allowed just three goals in over 318 minutes in the cage this season.

Lafayette, meanwhile, is 2-2 on the year. After opening the season with losses to Wake Forest (3-2) and Davidson (3-0), the Leopards have rebounded with back-to-back wins over Temple (2-1, OT) and Longwood (1-0). Sophomore Deanna DiCroce and senior Meghan Cicchi lead the team with two goals apiece and senior goalkeeper Kelsey Anderson has a .741 save percentage.

This is the first meeting all-time between Virginia and Lafayette.

The Leopards are led by Andrew Griffiths, who is in his fourth year as the school’s head coach. Griffiths has also been an assistant coach on the USA Under-21 National Team since 2004.
