CHARLOTTESVILLE – The second-ranked Virginia men’s soccer team hosts No. 12 Wake Forest on Saturday night at Klöckner Stadium. Kick-off is 7 p.m. and live statistics will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

A capacity crowd is expected and fans are enocourged to arrive early to avoid long lines. The first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive a Virginia soccer rally towel.

Virginia (3-0-1, 0-0-1 ACC) is coming off a 2-0 shutout victory over Marist on Tuesday (Sept. 14). The Cavaliers are unbeaten in their last 20 games, holding a 16-0-4 mark in those contests dating back to last year’s NCAA Championship season.

Additionally, Virginia is unbeaten in its last 13 matches in Klöckner Stadium.

Junior Jimmy Simpson (Warrenton, Va.) leads the team with three goals and has scored in three-consecutive contests.

Freshman forward Brian Span (Somers, N.Y.) has scored two goals and tallied two assists so far in his young career, while Sean Hiller (Howell, N.J.) has also tallied two goals.

Wake Forest has a 1-2-1 record and is coming off a 2-0 loss at Charlotte. Anthony Arena has scored two goals for the Demon Deacons, while Andy Lubahn and Luca Gimenez have also scored one for WFU.

Virginia leads the all-time series with Wake Forest, 33-6-6, and has won two in a row vs. the Demon Deacons.

Following Saturday’s match, Virginia hosts American on Tuesday, Sept. 21. Kick-off is 7 p.m.
