Men's Tennis Hosts Ranked Plus One Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia men’s tennis team hosts its second home tournament of the fall this weekend with the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational running Friday-Sunday at the Snyder Tennis Center. A total of 28 ranked players will be competing in the tournament, including 11 players who competed in the 2010 NCAA Singles Championship.
This year’s tournament consists of four “A” singles draws, each consisting of 16 players and weighted evenly. There will also be one “B” flight for extra players that are coming. Four “A” doubles draws of eight teams each, all weighted evenly, will also be part of the tournament.
Action begins Friday at 10 a.m. at the Snyder Tennis Center with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles. Saturday’s action starts at 8:30 a.m. with two rounds of singles, followed by the doubles finals at 8:30 p.m. Sunday’s action starts at 9:30 a.m. Admission is free.
Complete draws will be available this evening.
