CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Virginia women’s tennis team continued play on Saturday at the Kitty Harrison Invitational at the University of North Carolina. The Cavaliers won four singles matches and two doubles match on day two of the event.

In singles, Virginia played six singles matches against Vanderbilt, winning four. Highlighting the day was Emily Fraser’s 6-0, 6-4 win over No. 58 ranked Chelsea Preeg. Erin Vierra, Lindsey Hardenbergh and Caryssa Peretz also recorded wins for Virginia.

In doubles, Virginia played three matches against North Carolina and three against Vanderbilt. The Cavaliers won one of the matches against the Tar Heels and one against the Commodores.

Also on Saturday, Rashmi Teltumbde and Maria Fuccillo had their run at the ITA Indoor Intercollegiate Championships come to an end with an 8-4 loss in the consolation semifinals to Hillary Barte and Mallory Burdette of Stanford.

The Kitty Harrison Invitational concludes Sunday in Chapel Hill.
