Virginia's KT Harrell Named ACC Rookie of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.-Virginia freshman guard KT Harrell has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for his play in the Cavaliers’ 63-48 victory over Oregon on Dec. 17 at John Paul Jones Arena.

Harrell, who is from Montgomery, Ala., scored a game-high 20 points and had four rebounds in Virginia’s win over the Ducks. He was 8-12 from the field, including 0-1 from three-point range, and 4-6 from the free throw line. Harrell also had one assist in 35 minutes of action.

It’s the first 20-point game of his collegiate career and the ACC Rookie of the Week recognition is the first for Harrell.

Clemson’s Jerai Grant was named the ACC Player of the Week.
