CLEMSON, S.C. – The Virginia women’s basketball team will look to bounce back from a Friday night loss at 14th-ranked North Carolina when it travels to Clemson on Sunday for a 2 p.m. road contest.

Virginia (12-10, 1-5 ACC) fell at No. 14 UNC, 64-52, despite a game-high 15 points from senior guard Paulisha Kellum (Upper Marlboro, Md.). Freshman Ataira Franklin (Bowie, Md.) chipped in eight points and five rebounds, while Chelsea Shine (Wayna, Pa.) and Lexie Gerson (Fort Washington, Pa.) each added five points.

Franklin leads Virginia in scoring during its six ACC games, averaging 10.7 points per game.

Clemson (9-13 overall, 2-5 ACC) is coming off a 92-37 loss at third-ranked Duke on Jan. 26. The Tigers are led by Sthefany Thomas (12.1 points per game) and Kirstyn Wright (11.8 points per game).

Itoro Coleman is in her first season as head coach at Clemson.

The Cavaliers lead the all-time series with Clemson, 36-28. In games played at Littlejohn Coliseum, Virginia is 13-14 all-time.

UVa is riding a seven-game win streak against the Tigers. Last year, the Cavaliers prevailed 82-60 in Charlottesville.

Following Sunday’s contest, Virginia returns home for two-straight games. First up is a Thursday, Feb. 3, match-up vs. Wake Forest at John Paul Jones Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
