CHARLOTTESVILLE – The top-ranked Virginia men’s tennis team will continue its season-opening nine-match homestand with a pair of matches this weekend at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. The Cavaliers host No. 71 Maryland in their ACC opener on Friday at 5 p.m. and meet No. 12 Kentucky on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Cavaliers (6-0) will begin their quest for an eighth-consecutive ACC regular season title when they meet the Terps (3-0) on Friday. Virginia has won 63 consecutive matches against conference foes (regular season and postseason), dating back to the 2006 season.

On Saturday, Virginia will look to avenge a 4-3 loss last season at Kentucky, its only regular season loss of the past three seasons. The Wildcats, who also qualified for this month’s ITA National Team Indoor Championships, enter the weekend with a 6-0 record as well.

Virginia currently is riding a school-record 80-match home winning streak.

Admission to all home Virginia tennis matches is free.
