UVa Incoming Freshman Golfer Qualifies for U.S. Amateur Public Links

Charlottesville, VA – Nick Tremps, who will be a freshman on the Virginia men’s golf team this fall, has qualified for the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. Tremps, who resides in Williamsburg, Va., shot even par 142 at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va., to finish third at the event and claim one of the three qualifying berths from the site.
This year’s Pub Links will take place June 27 through July 2 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon Dunes, Ore.
Tremps is currently ranked No. 88 in the Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings. He has qualified for the past three U.S. Junior Championships. He grew up in Texas and was the runner-up at the Texas State Junior Championships the past two years and runner-up in the Texas Junior Golf Tour Championship.
