GMU opened its preseason slate with a 1-0 win at West Virginia on Tuesday. In the 64th minute, Taylor Morgan scored the game’s lone goal to secure the win. Derek Markheim (2-3-7) is the Patriots’ leading returning scorer from 2010.

Ranked 14th in the preseason Top Drawer Soccer rankings and 22nd in the preseason NSCAA poll, the Cavaliers will have their final tune-up for the regular season at 6 p.m. Monday with the Orange and Blue Scrimmage at Klöckner Stadium.
