CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team had four players reach singles flight semifinals on the second day of play at the UVa Fall Classic. They will look to win a pair of matches on Sunday to take the title in their respective flights.

In Blue singles, top-seeded Justin Shane (Falls Church, Va.) had a first round bye before downing Wesley Barrett of Old Dominion in three sets in the quarterfinals. Top-seeded Julen Uriguen (Guatemala City, Guatemala) advanced in Orange singles with a 6-3, 6-1 quarterfinal win over Tommi Nissinen of James Madison after a first round bye. Santiago Villegas (Bogata, Colombia), the No. 4 seed in White singles, reached the semifinals with a pair of wins on Saturday. Philippe Oudshoorn (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands), the No. 2 seed in Black singles, had a pair of straight set wins to advance.

The tournament concludes Sunday at the Snyder Tennis Center with play beginning at 9 a.m. Admission is free.
