Main Draw Play Begins Friday at ITA Atlantic Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia men’s tennis team hosts the 2011 ITA Atlantic Regional, Oct. 20-25, at the Snyder Tennis Center. Main draw singles and doubles play begins Friday. Admission is free.

Virginia has eight players in the main draw, including six seeds. The top-seed is Jarmere Jenkins (College Park, Ga.), the two-time defending champion. Drew Courtney (Clifton, Va.) is the No. 2 seed, Julen Uriguen (Guatemala City, Guatemala) is the No. 5 seed and Justin Shane (Falls Church, Va.) is the No. 6 seed. Steven Rooda (Amersfoort, The Netherlands), Philippe Oudshoorn (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands), Santiago Villegas (Bogota, Colombia) and Ian Uriguen (Guatemala City, Guatemala) are also in the draw.
