CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-Just days before the Virginia track and field teams open their 2011-12 indoor season at the Liberty Kick-Off in Lynchburg, Va, Friday and Saturday, the men’s 2011 recruiting class was tabbed the eighth-best in the country by Track and Field News in its January edition.

Virginia will be featured in the field events, as well as the heptathlon, the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles.

Following this weekend, the Cavaliers will break for finals and the holidays before beginning competition in 2012 with the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 13-14.
