CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –
The Virginia men’s lacrosse team will have eight regular season games, in addition to the ACC Tournament, broadcast on the ESPN family of networks during the 2012 season. The March 4 home game against Syracuse and the road April 7 game at North Carolina highlight the schedule, being televised on the ESPN.

“We are proud to find ourselves atop of Inside Lacrosse’s Face-Off yearbook, to be playing the six of the next seven teams in their poll, seven of the 2011 NCAA teams overall and to be included in both the Face-Off and Mile High Classics,” said head coach Dom Starsia. “In addition, the new agreement between the ACC and ESPN promises to put an increased number of our games in homes across the country.”

Virginia’s Feb. 25 home contest against Stony Brook will be broadcast on ESPN3 at noon, followed by the Syracuse ESPN contest at 4:30 p.m. on March 4. The Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic contest with Cornell will begin at 1:30 at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium, the site of UVa’s 2011 NCAA title run.

UVa hosts Johns Hopkins for the Doyle Smith Cup at Klöckner Stadium on March 24 and the contest will be seen on ESPNU. All three of UVa’s ACC league games will be televised, beginning with a road tilt at Maryland on ESPNU at noon on March 31. UVa’s ESPN game at North Carolina also faces off at noon on April 7. The Cavaliers host Duke on ESPNU on April 13 at 6 p.m.

The semifinal round and the championship game of the ACC Tournament, hosted by Virginia, will be seen on ESPNU. The semifinal round will be played at 5 and 7:30 p.m. on April 20. The ACC title will be contested on April 22 at 3 p.m.

UVa concludes the 2012 regular season in Inside Lacrosse’s Mile High Classic, facing Penn at Denver’s Sports Authority Field. That contest will be televised on ESPN3 at 7:30 p.m. EST.

The ESPN family of networks will televise all four rounds of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
