CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia tennis fans are invited to enjoy a fun-filled evening on the court with the UVa men’s and women’s tennis teams and coaches on Wednesday, February 1. “Team Night 2012” is a free event that will run from 6-8 p.m. at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. 



Boar’s Head opens its doors to all Cavalier fans to participate in tennis drills and games. Fans can meet and interact with the student-athletes and coaches and show their support for the 2012 Cavaliers as the teams prepare for another exciting spring season.

“Team Night 2012” will feature something for all levels of tennis players and enthusiasts to enjoy.

The No. 2 Virginia men’s team opens its home schedule with matches at Boar’s Head Sports Club against No. 17 Texas on Feb. 3, No. 5 Florida on Feb. 4, and No. 11 Texas A&M on Feb. 5.

The No. 9 Virginia women’s team opened the season with wins over No. 15 Texas and No. 19 Tennessee last weekend at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY. The Virginia women’s team will serve as host of the 2012 ITA Women’s National Team Indoor Championships, Feb. 10-13 at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.

The men’s team will host the 2012 ITA Men’s National Team Indoor Championships, Feb. 17-20 at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.

Admission to all Virginia home men’s and women’s tennis matches is free.
