CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s soccer head coach George Gelnovatch has announced the addition of Darius Madison (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Jordan Poarch (Hockessin, Del.) for the 2012-13 school year.

Madison and Poarch join Zachary Carroll (Grand Blanc, Mich.), Brian James (Sunrise, Fla.), Shane O’Neill (Fairview, Colo.), Marcus Salandy-Defour (Kensington, Md.), Scott Thomsen (Brick, N.J.) and Todd Wharton (Glen Allen, Va.) in the 2012-13 class.

A forward/midfielder at LaSalle College High School, Madison also was a member of the Region I Boys Olympic Development Program and earned the Golden Boot Award at the 2011 Trofeo Scopigno Tournament in Rieti, Italy. He also was named to the 2011 NSCAA High School All-Region II Team and was the Times Herald Player of the Year. An All-State and First-Team All-Catholic selection in 2011, Madison led the Catholic League Champion Explorers with 20 goals this season.

After the season, Madison was selected to compete in the High School All-American Game in Montgomery, Ala. Madison is ranked No. 47 on the TopDrawerSoccer Players to Watch List for 2012.

Poarch is a forward/midfielder at the Sanford School and also was named to the 2011 NSCAA High School All-Region II Team. Poarch was named to the 2011 All-State Team and was a member of the Olympic Development Program’s Region 1 team.

The 2012 recruiting class already has earned national acclaim, with a No. 2 national ranking from Top Drawer Soccer. Six of the players in the class are ranked on the ESPNHS Class of 2012 150 College Prospects list.
