UVa Women's Golfers Finish 11th at Bryan National Collegiate

Greensboro, NC – The 24th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team finished 11th of 17 teams at the Bryan National Collegiate contested in Greensboro, N.C. The Cavaliers shot 13-over 301 during Sunday’s final round for a three-day total of 903. Duke and Tennessee tied for first place at 18-over 882. The 14th-ranked Lady Vols beat the No. 10 Blue Devils in a playoff to claim the team title.
Virginia was led by the 13th-place finish of junior Brittany Altomare. She shot 2-over 74 Sunday for a 54-hole total of 6-over 222. Elizabeth Brightwell placed 25th at 9-over 225 including a 76 during the final round.
Cavalier freshman Briana Mao had UVa’s best final round score, shooting even par 72 to move up to 35th place at 227. The 72 equaled her best round as a collegiate. Portland Rosen finished 72nd at 236 and Lauren Greenlief was 82nd at 241. Rosen shot 79 Sunday while Greenlief carded an 89.
Duke’s Lindy Duncan took medalist honors at 4-under 212.
The Cavaliers return to Greensboro next weekend to compete at the ACC Championships April 13-15 at Sedgefield Country Club.
