Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia football team will hold its annual Orange-Blue Spring Game on Saturday, April 14 at Scott Stadium. The stadium’s gates open at noon for Fan Fest activities and the spring game will begin shortly after 2 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

“The Orange-Blue Spring Game is a great way for our fans to come out and support the Virginia football program,” said head coach Mike London. “I’m pleased with the progress we’ve made this spring and the Orange-Blue game provides opportunities for our players to showcase their improvement as we prepare for the 2012 season.”

A free live video stream of the Spring Game will be available on Cavaliers Live at VirginiaSports.com. ESPN3 will also stream the game live on its website. Voice of the Cavaliers Dave Koehn will call the action and will be joined in the booth by Jay James.

Fan Fest activities will be set up on the field and in the Pergola Plaza above the hill at Scott Stadium. The on-field promotional activities are available until 1:15 p.m.

Authentic game-worn home football jerseys from the years 2001 to 2009 will be on sale in addition to a limited number of game-worn navy colored football helmets. Jerseys are $75 and helmets are $150 and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Methods of payment include cash and credit cards (no checks). An autographed Chris Long jersey will be auctioned off. The jersey/helmet sale will take place behind the scoreboard at the open end of Scott Stadium and begins at noon.

Promotional tables will be set up inside the stadium’s East and West Gates. Fans will have an opportunity to pick-up the 2012 football poster and a roster/autograph card as well as register to win raffle prizes. Prizes include a pair of season tickets, tickets for UVa individual home games, a 42-inch LCD-TV, and a Cavalier helmet and football signed by head coach Mike London. Raffle tickets are $5 or three for $10 and available at the jersey/helmet sale area.

Fans may also drop off entries for the Spring Football Drawing and Essay Contests at the promotional tables inside each gate. Click here for more information about these contests.

The team will hold a short practice period starting at 1:45 p.m. before the Orange-Blue Spring Game. The game is expected to begin shortly after 2 p.m. and will consist of four 8-minute quarters.

A Select-A-Seat event will be held in conjunction with the Orange-Blue Spring Game. Fans may visit the CavForce sales booths outside of Sections 106 and 124 for information on 2012 Virginia football season tickets. Seats in both the lower and upper levels will be tagged and new buyers will have the opportunity to select their 2012 seat locations starting at noon.

Concession stands and the Cavalier Team Shop at Scott Stadium locations will be open.

The 2012 team captains and spring award winners will be announced at the conclusion of the game and then the team will hold an autograph session for fans on the field. The post-game activities are expected to conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m.
