CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The second-ranked Virginia rowing team travels to Columbus, Ohio Saturday (April 28), to take on No. 3 Michigan at 9 a.m., and No. 4 Ohio State at 1 p.m.

The Cavaliers won their 12th ACC Rowing Championship last Saturday (April 21) on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. It was UVa’s third straight conference crown.

The first Varsity Eight, second Varsity Eight and Novice Eight all picked up wins at the regatta, as did the second Varsity Four in an exhibition race. The 1V8 was named ACC Crew of the Year and head coach Kevin Sauer was named ACC Coach of the Year for the eighth time.

Seniors Sidney Thorsten (Atlanta, Ga.), Keziah Beall (Bainbridge, Wash.), Martha Kuzzy (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Sarah Cowburn (Reddicth, Worcestershire, England) and junior Kristine O’Brien (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) were all named to the All-ACC Rowing team.

The Cavaliers return to action May 13 for the Eastern Sprints in Camden, N.J.
